I work using an integrated model incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Integrative and concepts within my work. I value the influences of the humanistic and person-centred approaches. CBT aims to engender change and challenge thought processes.
EMDR was initially developed as a therapy for treating trauma or PTSD. It is a comprehensive psychotherapy that helps to process and recover from experiences that affect individuals' mental health and wellbeing. It helps process negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic and challenging memories that seem to be stuck. It is used to treat a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, addictions, OCD, trauma and more complex disorders.
My ethos as a therapist is to focus on each individual, helping you identify what it is that needs changing, both psychologically and practically. We work together to identify patterns of thought and behaviour in order to evoke clear and confident change.
My approach focuses on the issues you may bring and on opportunities you may be unaware of. This process may help you to tap into your unused potential. Various techniques like relaxation and stress management can help with coping strategies.
